Founder & CEO

Zach Hunter

Zach brings a deep background in custom residential construction and business operations. Before founding Slate, he handled estimating, purchasing and project management for a custom home builder, then launched its production building arm from the ground up: designing home plans, organizing subcontractors, overseeing budgets, managing field operations and supporting sales.

When commitments there went unmet, he set out to build a more transparent, client-focused construction company. That company became Slate.

James Sullivan

James oversees Slate's financial operations, including billing, invoicing, purchase orders, change orders, RFIs, receivables and payables. He brings experience across SaaS, biotechnology, information systems, consulting, software and construction.

His attention to detail and ability to bridge finance and field operations keep every project accountable, and your budget clear.

Chris Erni

Chris oversees field operations and manages active construction. He started in residential construction in 2018 with a custom home builder, taking charge of scheduling trades, verifying scopes of work, managing warranty claims and keeping projects on track.

He joined Slate in 2022 to lead framing crews and direct construction on the ground.
